Negev Cultural Events Program

With culture being a major aspect of good quality of life for a region, the Merage Foundation - Israel has deepened its involvement in upgrading and enriching the cultural life in the Negev. In addition to providing entertainment for its residents, the Negev cultural project will increase tourism among the citizens of Israel. The Merage Foundation - Israel office will serve as a central entity for cultural activities in the Negev, providing cultural information, contacts with relevant authorities, and connections to producers, artists, and businesspersons interested in the arts.

Each year, the Merage Foundation - Israel publishes "a call for cultural proposals" and distributes it to all the Negev municipalities. This project provided an opportunity for regional councils and cities to increase the number and professionalism of festivals in the Negev. Every chosen event receives financial support and the involvement of a professional production team and a public relations company to work closely with and mentor municipality staff.
