Merage Foundations Israel is the only privately owned foundation in Israel which concentrates its philanthropic activity in the Negev region. The foundation supports regional development through a series of entrepreneurial and business development projects, educational and cultural programs, infrastructure investments and tourism promotion. It also invests in organizations that support new immigrants and their successful transition to life in Israel.

Since its inception in 2000, the foundation has taken the lead in wide-ranging projects, providing support to thousands of families and individuals. Its operational strategy is to form coalitions with the government, local councils, and any public or private institutions that share the ambition to invest in the development and advancement of the Negev, and Israel as a whole.
