Performing Arts Education Program

For the third year, the Merage Foundation - Israel, the Israel "Community Centers (Matnasim) Association" and the finest of the Israeli artists, have joined hands to create an educational program for developing and promoting the performing arts and culture in the Negev. Their efforts are highly supported and encouraged by other like-minded organizations and leading cultural and educational personalities throughout Israel.

The program boosts the existing informal performing arts educational structure in the Negev, focusing on dance, theatre, and music. A number of amateur dance, theatre, and music groups are granted opportunities to artist seminars, lectures, and one-day workshops run by a wide range of leading Israeli artists. Programs are then linked into three large seminars and one large festival as the climax of the year's program. This effort, among others, is geared to close the gap between artistic opportunities in central Israel and those in the Negev and to provide exposure to the best professional artistry Israel has to offer.
