Arad Teacher Laptop Program

The Merage Foundation - Israel believes that academic excellence is developed through the delivery of high-quality education. Teachers around the world, and particularly in the Negev, are facing significant challenges in keeping up with the technological advances that their students view as commonplace. In the city of Arad, Louise Merage and the Merage Foundation - Israel have become leading partners in a program called "A Laptop for Every Teacher" together with the Atena Foundation. The project's objectives are to provide teachers with proper tools to conduct their work, including basic computer programs, e-mail and internet access, and to empower their use through professional training programs. In 2007, more than 100 laptops were delivered to Arad elementary school teachers in the pilot program which will be expanded at 2008 to additional cities throughout Israel.
