Organic Agriculture

The bioorganic food market is the fastest developing market in the food domain in the world and the Negev region is the biggest supplier in Israel for exporting bioorganic products to Europe and the entire world. The Negev, due to its unique characteristics, is an attractive area, able to accelerate the development of this industry.

During 2008-9 MFI supported the activities of IBOAA: "The Israel Bio-Organic Agriculture Association" to encourage and assist entrepreneurs from the bioorganic industry in the Negev. The industry is defined as a “knowledge rich” industry, constantly innovative. Thus the constant training of the people involved is of high importance. The activities focus on acting directly with the growers, producing 10 conferences and seminars with hundreds of participants, dealing directly with researchers and research institutes, keeping contact with resource suppliers, developing new technologies and providing guidance services.
